NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home

Service Description

NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home (PPOTH), sponsored by Chapman Tactical Defense, is an in-person class for students who are interested in protecting themselves and their family while carrying a firearm in public. This objective-based course explores important concealed carry concepts including how to develop a defensive mindset, cover & concealment principles, holstering options for maximum efficiency, concealed carry laws, how to travel with your firearm, when you can shoot for protection of self and others, proper interaction with the police after an incident, aftermath preparation, basic tactical reloading & defensive shooting drills. Training by certified instructors. Students will need a pistol (9mm caliber or greater recommended), approximately 250 rounds of factory ammunition (ammunition is not allowed in the classroom), eye & ear protection (prescription eyewear acceptable), hip or appendix holster, snap caps, 2 extra magazines, and a positive attitude. Upon successfully passing this course, including knowledge exam and shooting drills, students will meet NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home national standards and will earn an official certificate of completion. Approximately 10 hours including live fire-training. A welcome letter will be emailed within 48 hours of registration.
