Wilderness & Remote First Aid

2-Day Course involves overnight camping


Service Description

Designed for outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs. This course will involve overnight camping. This class is intended for adults and teens that are 16+ per American Red Cross regulations. Children and teens younger than 16 can attend so long as they do not interfere with the learning/participation of paying students. Basic list of what you will need: Camping gear suitable for the time of year and location of course. A vehicle capable of mild/to moderate off-roading, a stock 4x4 truck or SUV (often 2-wheel drive will be sufficient). Water and food for 2 days of camping. This class will have different variables of equipment needed depending on the location and group size. A more extensive list will be provided for each class scheduled. The above list is just the basics of all wilderness and remote first aid courses. Due to the extensive nature of preparation for the course, all payments will need to be made in advance via Zelle to chaptacdef@gmail.com or 702-283-8228. Cost is per adult and teen 16+. All minors will require a paying and accompanying adult. Please don't hesitate to contact us for a more in-depth description of up coming courses. All American Red Cross courses have the option to add-on an Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) for $75 that includes 1 - Modular carry case 1 - CAT tourniquet 1 - FAST tourniquet 2 - Vented chest seals 1 - Emergency or Israeli bandage 1 - Pair of trauma shears 2 - Pairs of latex gloves 1 - Package of gauze 1 - NPA
